unit 4 evaluation and powerpoint

evaluation of blog.

for this unit i was asked to create a blog that reflects on all of the units that i have completed so far, to explain what i did what i liked or disliked about the units.
to meet the brief of unit 4 i have created a blog on Blogger, that allowed my to create seperate pages for each on of my units so i could talk about each one of the units to say what i enjoyed and what i didnt like very much..
when i began this project i started of on the social networking site Twitter, because i thought it would be a different way to display my work, but i decided to change over to blogger because i couldnt create different pages for the units and i could only write a small amount when sending out a tweet about my work so i couldnt say alot about any of my units. i finally decided on blogger because it was alot easier to use and easier for a veiwer to read it. to create this blog i had to take picture of all of my work from all of the units that i have done upload them to the sitte then explain what i did a say what i enjoyed and did not enjoy.
during this project i feel that my strengths were realising what did and didnt work when creating the blog and what i could do to change it to make the blog better. i feel that my weaknesses whilst making this blog was time management, because i left it a little late to complete the blog so i struggled with certain things when trying to complete it. if i was able to do this project again then i would use blogger from the very beggining becauise it is easier and quicker to use. and i would plan it out better so that i had more time to do the blog. overall i would say that i am happy with the outcome of the blog because i have completed the blog and have done what the brief for this project has asked me to do.

unit 8



unit 5, 6 and 7

because i chose the futre sound of london as the band tha i am going to make a music video for i have printed of a few of there album cover so i knew what kind of art work they typically use when when creating there music

after we listened to the song one of the things that we thought of when we heard it was jelly fish so we wanted to incorporate it in to the video somehow.

my unit 5 6 and 7 i had to pick a song and create a music video video which fitted in with music. so i had to do various different things to help me create the final video.
i made a colour wheel it is made up of primary, secondary and tertiary colours.

these are different types of colour schemes. in tis picture there are the square colour scheme, split complimentary and the tetradic colour scheme i liked this part of the unit because it helped  me to learn more about the colour theory.

these are all about tint, shade and tone, for tints shades and tones it will either get lighter or darker depending on whether i am making a tint shade or a tone. this one was quite difficult because you had to be careful because if you used to much of a darker colour then it could ruin all of the chart.

these are some templates that i found of a story board to help me decide what kind of layout i wanted to use when making my own storyboard. it helped me alot when creating the storyboards.

these are some images that i collected after listening to the song that we chose. i collected these images because they some of the words that are mentioned in the song by the band the future sound of london

i did a workshop in paper folding and paper  engineering. it taught me alot of different folding techniques and how to create different patterns.

these are some different jelly fish fish that i have made using the different folding techniques and patterns that i learnt in the paper engineering workshop. i think that they look like jellyfish and and that the paper engineering really helped.

i also did a wire engineering workshop and the first thing that i made was my hand using only the wire,  i am quite happy with how the wire turned out because it was 3d and looked realistic.

these are some images from my stop animation that i did to make the stop animation i ahd to move the jelly fish slightly then take a picture so that when you turn it in to a video it looks like they are moving, i liked this process because i enjoyed and was happy with the final outcom of the video.

because the music i made had jelly fish in i made some jelly fish by gluing coloured tishue paper to a balloon and then letting it dry, after that you pop the balloon so you are leeft with the shape of a jelly fish. this was a messy but fun thing that i made, it was different and the final out come of the jelly fish looks really effective.

these are some screen grabs from the computer that i made the music video for the band the future sound of londons song papua new guinea, to make the video i used the jelly fish that i made pouring ink and i mixed the two together at times.i enjoyed making the music video once i had learnt how equiptment worked and how to create all of the different effects.

this is an image of how the jelly fish looked opnce they had dryed completely and i had stuck the legs on to the body so they looked like real jelly fish. i am happy with how they do look because i feel that they do look really realistic.

unit 3

 for unit 3 it was all about drawing. this unit was quite a messy unit because, i had to use ink, charcoal and chalk. for this picture i tried all different types of shading cross hatch and creating shadow.

this one was a bit of a challenge because i had to draw the same 3 jars over and over again, but i got a bit more time to draw it each time that i drew it to show how the image improved with the more time i got to draw it.

this one is where i used chalk and charcoal to show the light and shadow that was hitting the different objects that i was drawing, i found this a little difficult because it was hard to draw the right shape to capture the right light on the image.

these are for my 1 point perspective drawings, i decided to draw different shapes and different sizes so it was more challenging to draw.

this is an image of my 2 point perspective drawing it is of a building which is a part of the college. i found this one difficult to draw because of the amount of lines that are on the building so i needed to be really precise.

unit 2

this is my unit 2 it was where i had to make the t-shirt designs. we had 3 different art styles which we had to gather information about to help decide on our designs for the t-shirt. this picture is of my work which is a coke can in the stye of andy warhol which is linking to pop art.

this one is linking to art deco which is a art movement based in the 1920s, my picture is in the style of sonia delauney, who uses shapes and bright colours.

i decided that i wanted y designs to be linking to pop art, this is a design idea of a coke can that looks like it is exploding. because it is pop art it has to be coloured in by dots

this is a design of angelina jolie because she has been in the news recently because it has been said that she was adopting another child so this is in the style of roy lichinstein. 

i decided to use mcdonalds because it is a food chain that has become very famous and popular in recent years.

the final design that i decided to make was the exploding coca cola, because it was the design that i liked and the one that looked the most visually effective. to make i used paper to help make the outlines of the design, and then i used a paint brush and hand painted on all the dots.

this is what the back of my t-shirt looks like i made it the same as how i made the front of the t-shirt.

unit 1

when i started my unit 1 the first thing that i made was the collage of my face, to make this i had to use pieces of magazine articles to get it to match my picture, the best i could.i am happy with this because it looks fairly accurate.

 for this part of unit 1 i had to make something that resembled the things that were in the college grounds, so i used some different leaves that i found in the college garden. i used helicopters for the shape and structure and used glue and thread to keep it stuck together, i also used a large leaf and secured it to the centre of the helicopter leaves, to make it more boyant, because it is going to float down the stream that is in the college garden. by the time it got to the bottom of the stream it had broke in to two pieces.

these are some of my designs from when i went to Mablethorpe to make sand sculptures, the designs that i drew were mainly things that are linked to the beach, i also decided to put some aztec shapes into the designs so that there was something different and more interesting, because i used different materials to draw with i think that it makes the designs stand out more

 after i had drawn my mablethorpe design ideas i had settled on making an umbrella that is typically found at the beach, when i created the sculpture i made it so that it was semi submerged from the sand, this way i managed to get the most detail on the sculptures.

during my unit 1 i went to the yorkshire sculpture park to get a greater knoweledge on how to present my work and make my work better, and also how other people make there work.

 this is what i used to create my lino prints, it is a piece of lino that i have carved into, to create a print, for the prints that i made it needed to be linked to earth, wind, fire and water, my favourite print that i made was the one that was linking to fire because i feel that, that is the one that looks the most effective.
